Herne Bay United makes work of 3 points

Herne Bay United faced Letchworth at the weekend and knows that every game for them now is like a cup final if they want to keep the pressure on the league leaders and retain the National title. United couldn’t of started any better or so it seemed with Brendan Barker getting United’s first within 30 seconds of the start, but Letchworth took only another 30 seconds to equalize from a defensive error and a deflection to beat Daniel Barton. United kept on with the pressure and pushing up on Letchworth, Captain Hosking got two quick goals giving United the edge and the breathing space they needed. United kept on trying but a now warmed up Ben Howes was proving to be a strong final line of defence, Letchworth never gave up fighting for the chances and continued trying. Somehow United lost their way and were looking disjointed and out of sync, not taking any of the multiple chances they were creating. Some slight changes to the team and after a much needed time out the last five minutes was an improvement, United’s new signing Danny Butcher from RHC Invicta got his first Premier League goal for United with Karl Smith quickly following up within a minute with an unstoppable volley.
