SECRHA Match Reports Jan2012

 

The South Eastern Counties 2012 competition got underway in Maidstone on Sunday.

HBU had matches at Under 16 and Under 11.

The U11 team started HBU’s day off with a win against local rivals Herne Bay 7 – 5. Sian Emslie gave HBU an early lead but the team struggled to establish its usual team game. Even so HBU stayed in the lead throughout the match and were 7 – 3 up before allowing HB to score twice near the end.

In the second match against the novice Maidstone U11 team the result was a 15 – 0 win with goals from Sian Emslie 7, George Daly 2, Noah Latham 2, Archie Isaacs 2 and Max Bassom 1. There was one own goal. The HBU squad was completed by Jamie Leaonard in goal.

Under 16 was a new adventure for HBU and the club relied on its 4 experienced U15 players but with the additional advantage of being able to have U16 Ed Mount in goal and Ed kept a clean sheet. Against RHC Invicta HBU won 9 – 0 with goals from Lewis Greenwood 4, Alex Mount 3 and David Martindale 2. The final match of the day was very much enjoyed by the crowd who saw HBU’s team play deliver a 4 – 0 win against a strong Herne Bay side. Lewis and Alex scored 2 goals each with one freak goal coming off the back wall and the back of the Bay keeper. This was a great team performance from beginning to end with an excellent team goal being denied by the final hooter.
