Start of 2012/13 Season
Herne Bay United 2012-2013
Training Sessions and Competitions Entered Issue 1
Due to work at the Arena, first training is 10 September.
We have had a season learning about our new rink and the times we have at our disposal as well as the usual factors such as how players are getting on at training and in competition.
First of all I am pleased to tell you that we have a player/coach, Fabio Vincent, joining the HBU Youth Academy from Portugal. You may have met Fabio when he came to see our sessions at the end of last season.
As one season ends and another begins some players move from one age category to another and new team combinations must be formed. This inevitably means that we have to look at which players will now be at which training sessions and the coaching that will be required for them individually and also to create effective teams.
If you follow the ‘RINK HOCKEY’ tab on the main menu above, you will find the first draft for the training sessions. When we have more complete information and feedback there are likely to be changes. As the season progresses there will also be changes as the needs of players and teams change. As a result of the changes some players may be attending more training sessions this season and some fewer. This is the starting point and issues can be discussed with the relevant coaches as we get underway so that they can be responded to.
The players from last season form the basis of the plan. Some have already registered, some are not yet registered. In the lists that follow there is an “R” by the name of players for whom we have had an NRHA registration form. If you believe you have completed an NRHA registration form then please let me know and if you have not done it yet please do so and get it to Aileen. Aileen, Kelly or Kym can provide forms if you need one. As a rule of thumb, NRHA fees have increased by £5 over last season. The Club fees are likely to be the same or similar to last season and will be decided at the AGM.
We apply for entry into leagues and competitions based upon the indications of players and parents and on our estimation that we will have a team to fulfil the fixtures. We have to apply early and we are then committed. It is vital that the players of the teams are available for the duration of the season, especially, where there is a thin squad as there will be this coming season in U11.
