SECRHA U/16 League

The final tournament of the SECRHA U16 season took place this weekend with Maidstone the host team at the YMCA.

In the past this small rink has caused HBU some challenges and this occasion was no different. HBU needed to beat RHC Invicta to retain the title and began the game going one down before 3 quick goals through some good team play saw HBU comfortably in front at half time. The 2nd half was a closer affair with HBU pressing but only able to add one more for a 4-1 score line and to win the league.

The 2nd game against the home team Maidstone was mostly one way traffic and 2 early goals and great Maidstone goalkeeping kept the score unchanged until late in the game with the final score 3-0.

The final game against an undefeated Herne Bay was the closest game of the day where a committed Herne Bay performance, great goal keeping and some poor HBU finishing produced a thrilling 3-3 draw and a great advert for SECRHA and regional hockey.

The HBU Team includes players Rhys Young, Jocie Greenwood, Oli Hudson, Harry Slack and Noah Latham have remained undefeated this season, well done to the entire squad.
